MoveOn.Org: Virtual March on Washington

Please join me in registering for a Virtual March on Washington on February 26th. We are asking Congress to stop the Bush administration's rush to war, and to Let the Inspections Work. Time is running out.

With your help, on February 26th, every Senate office will receive a call EVERY MINUTE from a constituent, as they receive a simulataneous crush of faxes and email. In New York and Los Angeles, "anti-war rooms" will highlight the progress of the day for national media. Local media will visit the "anti-war room" online, to monitor this constituent march throughout the day.

With your help, every Senate office switchboard will be lit up all day with our anti-war messages. This will be a powerful reminder of the bread and depth of opposition to a war in Iraq.

Just go to:

Please join me and sign up today. This has never been done before. Let's be part of it. (courtesy Laura Elrick)

Iraq is now militarily contained. They do not want a destructive war. It is better to give the inspectors more time - if force is necessary - the United Nations will act. Do not force the issue. Americans and other nations will be seen as aggressors.

What makes anyone think Iraq is militarily contained? Can you contain someone with a vial of Anthrax? Can you contain somone smuggling out a suitcase full of Botulism toxin?
That is the dumbest argument. Exept for the war is only about oil!!

It took almost a year to allow troops to oust Iraq out of Kuwait after they invaded them. The dely cost many Kuwaiti lives adn there is still over 600 Kuwati's missing. The current leadership in Iraq only understands force, they have scoffed at the UN for years. The UN should have disarmed Iraq 12 years ago. When asked how long it would take to disarm Iraq, almost all UN inspectors said less than 1 year. Why has it taken almost 12 years? Right now it is simple, if Iraq wants us to believe it is serious then a small token gesture of destroying the Al-Samud 2 missles would do it and help your anti war cause. Resolution 1441 states that Iraq is to comply without any compromise, and the UN has been compromising since. Does the UN control Iraq or does Iraq control the UN? I have seen people's ideas on how to solve this with out war and every answer seems fine, except it all depends on Iraq cooperating just like the UN resolutions. We all know how much Iraq has cooperated. I don't want to see any more last second cooperation, they should be actively seeking to end this and they are not. Why do they always wait until the end? Why not just cooperate and re-build their country? It seems these are the same questions we have seen for 12 years. This should have been taken care of in 1991, but the US appeased all of the anti war people then, and we are right back to where we started. The reason people attack the US is because they know everyone will try to stop the US from responding, it needs to stop.

The U.S. has weapons of mass destruction and has used them in Japan, Vietnam, Bosnia, Afghanistan to mention only a few. Israel, Pakistan, India, North Korea have weapons of mass destruction. Why has the U.N. not disarmed the United States and all the other countries which have weapons of mass destruction?

The U.S. should stop invading other countries and obey the U.N. resolutions itself before it can start pointing fingers at other people. Why should Iraq disarm when it is being attacked by the U.S. and Britain? Right now Iraq has to defend itself. The U.S. and Britain have to pull their forces out of Iraq and let the inspectors, through the U.N., do their job. The U.N. seems not to take into account that the U.S. and Britain have already declared war on Iraq and are occupying Iraq. When Hitler marched into the European countries with his armies, it was acknowledged that he had declared war on those countries. But for some reason when Hitler Bush marches into Iraq that is for the good of the World. Yes, it is for the good of the American and British oil companies, but not for the Iraqis or the rest of the World. Western imperialism has been around for a while and so have we.

Stop this childish push for war. Constrain Dubya. He never served. Now he wants to send our mothers & fathers, sisters and brothers, daughter & sons to war. Easy for him to do!

When there is a reason for war I will support it.

Dubya hasn't made the case.

When the UN says the inspections aren't working then we can consider CONSIDER and DEBATE going to war.

Until that time Dubya - grow up!!!

To the United States Congress & Senate; If the United States attacks Iraq & begins a terrible war, what will our Country be like in 10 years? Adolph Bush, & his cohorts, will be long gone out of Politics, but What will be their legacy? Will America look like & be like some post cataclysmic wasteland from a 1950's post Atomic War movie? Willl America have gone bankrupt? Will China, Japan, & the 3rd world countries be the new World providers & producers? This horrible Administration has already plunged us down from the success America was having a mere 5 years ago,to the humiliating low we have reached in the last year. How can we let this happen? The Congress & Senate MUST have the courage to stop the madness before it gets to the point of no return. WE know that Bush & his croonies are already 3 months behind their planned attack schedule, so the protest IS working. It can't just be from the people however. Our Representatives have to speak up, & speak up NOW! PLease, follow your conscience & do the right thing!
